Himalaya
Orion the Hunter stalks his prey over a group of peaks in the Himalayan massif.
Lake Abraham
Typically known for amazing ice pictures, Lake Abraham is a reservoir located near the Canadian Rockies. I was fortunate to catch 10 minutes of a decent aurora there (sans ice!).
Himalaya
The Milky Way like I have never seen it. Mt. Everest (Chomolangma) is the largest peak on the right side of the image.
Owens Valley
Owens Valley tells a story of success and tragedy. It is also a place of great beauty. In this image, the Milky Way rises over the river that created the valley through eons of erosion. Sadly, this tree had fallen the last time I visited the area.
Lee Flats
A full moon rises through the outstretched arms of a Joshua Tree in this haven in Death Valley National Park.
Aguereberry Point
The end of astronomical twilight defines the beginning of the end of darkness each day. You won't find a better location to witness that than this one!
Cades Cove
The John Oliver cabin in Cades Cove is a wonderful night photography subject. The cabin is oriented so the North star can be framed to create a star circle centered above the cabin in a long exposure like the one here.
Cades Cove
The Methodist Church in Cades Cove assumes an eerie appearance in this long exposure. The interior of the church is artificially lit and the glow in the background is light pollution from the nearby town of Townsend.
Roaring Fork Motor Trail
The Bud Ogle cabin near the entrance to the Roaring Fork trail is another great night photography subject. The stars streak across the sky laterally here in this long exposure.
Badwater Basin
A long exposure at Badwater Basin, an area with some of the darkest night skies you will ever see. Go there!
Zabriskie Point
The glow of light on the horizon of this image is known as Zodiacal Light. It is visible at certain times of the year due to dust particles that have collected in the orbital path of the planets in our solar system. To learn more about this image and Zodiacal Light, follow this link to Space.com!
Zabriskie Point
My buddy, David, stands with his tripod in awe of the Milky Way at Zabriskie Point in Death Valley.
Rhyolite
A long exposure at the Rhyolite ghost town is located near Death Valley National Part. The remnants of the bank building are lit by a nearby halogen street light. Believe it or not....
Ancient Bristlecone Forest
The most stunning example of a bristlecone pine tree that you will ever see. This beauty has been alive for, oh, maybe 5000 years or so. That's right!
Ancient Bristlecone Forest
A wonderful bristlecone pine tree in the Patriarch Grove of the Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest near Bishop, CA.
Lee Flats
A full moon rises through the outstretched arms of a Joshua Tree in this haven in Death Valley National Park. This one of two images I was able to make with some great photographers during an Adamus tour.

Alabama Hills
Look closely and you will see the constellation Orian above Mobius Arch in the Alabama Hills outside Lone Pine, CA. Jupiter is the brightest "star" in the sky. I know Jupiter is not a star... ;)
Sheldon Church Ruins
One of my absolute favorite places to go is the Low Country area of South Carolina and Georgia. The Sheldon Church ruins have a long history dating back to before the Revolutionary War. Google it...
Sheldon Church Ruins
Another perspective from the night I spend sleeping in my truck with the mosquitoes outside the Sheldon Church ruins.
